The dysplasia commissions of Bern and Zurich are the Swiss reference centers for the assessment of X-ray images for hereditary skeletal diseases (HD, ED, shoulder and lumbosacral osteochondrosis, spinal malformations, intervertebral disc degenerations, etc.) and organize and coordinate ultrasound-based screening examinations. X-ray images are generally taken by private veterinarians and submitted to one of the two commissions for official evaluation. Ultrasound-based screening examinations are carried out exclusively by certified ECVDI or ACVR radiologists. For the management of these screening examinations, the two dysplasia commissions use the PHD/PHBooklet system.
